Community Outreach

BBNA Workforce Development travels to Bristol Bay communities throughout the year to conduct presentations to high school students and provide information about WFD’s program services. Sometimes due to weather or other conflicting schedules we can’t make it to these communities.  We have a new GlobalMeet service that we utilize so we can still present our program information through web technology.

BBNA WFD Staff also are available to meet with community members seeking other various WFD program services.  Internal and external referrals are made.

Please contact the BBNA Workforce Development Case Worker to setup an appointment.

Campus Visits

BBNA Workforce Development travels twice a year to the University of Alaska Anchorage (UAA) and the University of Alaska Fairbanks (UAF). The annual campus visits are conducted each year to promote scholarship, internship, and employment opportunities for our Bristol Bay students. We meet with our currently funded students and seek out new potential students.

During these visits we provide information about Workforce program services, upcoming deadlines, and other scholarship resources. As a special treat, we bring traditional foods from home.

Photo Description: All food pictured are traditional foods donated by BBNA staff for annual campus visits and outreach events.
BBNA Workforce Development invites its Bristol Bay Partners to participate in the annual spring visits each year including:

Bristol Bay Science and Research Institute (BBSRI)
