Opioid Task Force
About the work:
This person will collaborate with a small team of staff and partners to enhance existing treatment and prevention services available to people in the Bristol Bay region. Work includes gathering information about treatment programs, identifying best practices for primary intervention, public education, piloting community gatherings, and developing a youth opioid prevention education program.
As a VISTA Member, you will receive:
- A living allowance paid every two weeks that equals $1333 per month.
- An education award upon completion of your year that can be used to pay for further education or student loans totaling $5,920.
- Non-competitive eligibility for federal jobs (similar to national veteran’s preference) for one year after completing your term of service.
- Health insurance, paid training in Portland, ongoing professional development and support.
The position is based at Bristol Bay Native Association in Dillingham and will serve as a key component to the development and delivery of services as part of the regional opioid task force.
