Plans, establishes, supervises, and directly performs the repair and maintenance activities of BBNA’s local and village facilities. Acts as first point of contact and has primary responsibility for the safe, efficient, and secure condition of buildings and grounds, including structural, electrical, heating and plumbing systems.

Background clearance including fingerprints. High School Diploma/GED. Related Journeyman’s license. College, technical training or apprenticeships in job related areas. Minimum of eight years’ experience in buildings and grounds custodial/maintenance consistent with knowledge, skills, and abilities for job described herein. Supervisory experience. Extensive knowledge and abilities in the following building operations and environmental systems: electrical, plumbing, heating, air handling, water treatment, pneumatic controls. Experience in carpentry, interior and exterior finishing and roofing systems; Maintenance and repair of sprinkler, alarm systems and ability to operate and repair small engine equipment. Working knowledge of building, plumbing, mechanical, electrical, and fire codes and OSHA standards. Record of promptness, dependability and self discipline in performance or work. Familiarity with Bristol Bay area, people, and culture. Availability for emergency situations on evenings, weekends, and holidays. Basic computer and report writing skills. Essential physical abilities: Requires walking, standing, lifting up to 50 lbs, stretching, stopping, climbing, and crawling in cramped spaces. Subject to extreme cold. May work in hazardous areas involving high levels of electrical current, steam, flammable vapors, fumes, etc. Travel to village sites required. Only limited leave during summer months may be allowed; considered based on coverage over the summer. Complete achievement of certain of the above specifications may not be required if, in the opinion of BBNA a particular candidate possesses significant offsetting characteristics, such as past accomplishments, experience, education, or estimate of future potential.
