Classroom, Bus, & Reception Itinerant Aide

Objective

This position fills the need for flexibility in the Head Start/Child Care work environment where unforeseen circumstances are common and a smooth flow of continuous operations is essential.  This Aide will be available to fill in where temporary coverage is needed in a classroom, on the bus run, or at the department Reception desk.  The individual’s assignments will vary based on where such need arises and have an important role in helping Teachers follow curriculum plans while ensuring a safe environment.

Qualifications

Job qualifications are already stated as Essential Job Results below.  The Essential Job Results are what the employee must be able to accomplish in order to be competent in the job.  Past and present Head Start parents are encouraged to apply.  Job knowledge / documentation absolutely required:   Cleared background check, including fingerprints.   Have or be willing to obtain CPR / 1st Aide certification. Current physical examination; TB screening; strength and stamina for the physical demands of spending extended time at the children’s level, lifting up to 55 lbs and  handling equipment, furniture and materials.   Must enjoy working with young children and parents in a fast paced environment where changes to daily routines occur.   Familiarity with Bristol Bay area, people, and cultures.
