This position crosses over between both the Human Resources Dept. and the Finance Department to manage the day to day operations of BBNA’s insurance and retirement systems. Finance Department objectives include, payroll benefit assignments and adjustments, the accounting and reconciliation of benefits, audit preparation and reporting. Human Resources objectives include oversight of enrollments and record keeping and acting as the primary contact for employees and managers for information related to health care coverage, retirement, and worker’s compensation.

High School diploma and a related Bachelor’s degree such as Accounting, Finance, or Human Resources, with management experience. Familiarity with the reporting requirements associated with employee benefits such as the Affordable Care Act; IRS, DOL, ERISA, and OSHA. Understanding of payroll operations and general ledger accounting processes. Progressive management experience may substitute college education. Demonstrated abilities: Must be able to work independently under general supervision only; Understanding of and interest in retirement systems, employee benefit practices, employee health programs and applying sound human resource policies and procedures in the day to day working environment; Familiarity with Bristol Bay area, people, and cultures; attention to detail/ accuracy; to organize and perform a complex variety of tasks in an efficient manner; excellent communication/ training skills; strong interpersonal skills /ability to maintain effective working relationships with other employees, public and private agencies, and general public; Computer skills required: Advanced ability to manipulate data and create reports in Excel data base and use finance accounting software for an extensive variety of purposes.
