Winter Trails Map

Although winter travel is never without risk, BBNA's Winter Trails Project can provide a new level of safety for travel between villages. The map here indicates the trail system to be marked with eight-foot reflective markers every 500 feet when completed by the Spring of 2003.

Sections now complete include the portion from Goodnews to Togiak, Togiak to Twin Hills, Manokotak to Dillingham, Dillingham to Portage Creek, Ekwok to New Stuyahok, New Stuyahok to Koliganek, and New Stuyahok to Levelock.

Sections roughly 50 percent complete include those linking Twin Hills to Manokotak, Dillingham to Ekwok, Ekwok to Levelock, and Levelock to Naknek.

To keep the trail markers in good repair, we need everyone's help. If you come across tripods that have fallen over, please take time to re-stand and secure them. Your help could save lives.
