The welfare
of our elders, children and families is the focus of BBNA’s Social Services division. Fifteen Tribal Children’s
Service Workers (TCSWs) and three social workers work closely with
tribes in Child In Need Aid Cases, a task that includes child protection
casework and support for new and established tribal courts now
operated by Aleknagik, Chignik Lake, Curyung, Koliganek, Manokotak
and Togiak tribal councils. Service to elders includes the Nutrition
Program, which provides hot meals to elders age 60 and over, Homemaker
and Chore Services for elders who live alone, and Care Coordination
for elders needing help locating and accessing services. BBNA’s
Family Services help keep families together, and contribute to
efforts to end domestic violence. |
| BBNA’s
Regional Food Bank depends on the generosity of businesses and
individuals and many volunteers to help families and individuals
experiencing financial hardship. |
