The
Healthy Families Program is designed to promote families. We believe
that parents are the best thing for their own kids, and that as
a parent you want to help your children have what they need.
We
try to connect with expectant mothers and moms with newborn babies,
and can continue to serve parents and their children up through
the age of 5.

Most
healthy family services are provided by home visitors
who meet with you in your home. They help make appointments
for prenatal checkups, and help make sure your children's
other health care needs are met too.

| At
first the Home Visitor will stop by once a week to see
how you are doing. |
|
|
The
Healthy Family visitors will work with you to help set and
meet your goals.
We'll
help you get to the doctor or other health care provider.
The home visitors can also put you in touch with other agencies
that provide services you need and qualify for, and we'll
help you fill out the forms too.

 |
Healthy
Families has a child development curriculum that can help
you learn about regular child growth and parenting issues.
If you have particular issues or special needs, we'll
help you get in touch with the professionals and experts
that are available locally to help. |
|
In
Dillingham we can help you get to those appointments
with our van, and if you have other kids that need attention
during your appointments, we can go along and help watch
them.
We
try to stay flexable and work with you because we know
that you care, and we want you to know that we care
too.

Parenting
is a lot of work, and it can be stressful. Most
new parents experience some stresses that are
hard to plan for and control.
Healthy
Families may be able to help, to make the most
important job you'll ever do in life just a little
bit easier. If you'd like more information about
Healthy Families, or know someone else who may,
