TOGIAK NATIONAL WILDLIFE REFUGE 842-1063
Services provided by the Togiak National Wildlife Refuge include:
Environmental education presentations. Ivory tagging for all beach ivory found and Alaska Native hunted walrus tusks. Information and regulations for the Nushagak Peninsula Caribou subsistence hunt. Bird identification (by sight and sound). Coordination for 4 Public Bird Counts (World Bird Count in October, Christmas Bird Count in December, Great Backyard Bird Count in February, North American Migration Count in May). Information on fish with tags and radio transmitters and collared moose and caribou. (Federal Duck Stamps are sold at the Post Office)

Provides funding for business development, community facilities, and a variety of home loan and grant programs. Applications and information are available at the Dillingham office below the Togiak National Wildlife Refuge offices.

SOCIAL SECURITY ADMINISTRATION

Provides Social Security and Supplemental Security Income (SSI) for people who are retired, disabled, on Medicare or are low income, and for minor children whose parent(s) are deceased. Also provides assistance in filing claims and Medicare outreach services to bush areas of Alaska.

All information on assistance available to veterans and their dependants can be obtained by calling the administration office in Anchorage. Programs include V.A. pension, education benefits, life insurance, and vocational rehabilitation.
