Alaska Legal Services provides free legal advice and representation to low-income Alaskans. Please call or visit our office on the 2nd floor of the BBNA Workforce Building. We can help you with most civil legal problems, including:

• Housing and landlord/tenant problems
• Domestic violence
• Educational rights
• Public benefits: (ATAP, Social Security, SSI, food stamps, unemployment, and other programs)
• Bankruptcy or debt advice
• Consumer law issues: (repossessions, foreclosures, problems with debt collectors or credit reports)
• Real estate problems (including allotments)
• Wills, living wills, guardianships, and powers of attorney
• Family law issues (child custody, divorce, child support)

Refers you to three lawyers who practice in the area of law from which you are seeking assistance. These lawyers have agreed to charge no more than $50.00 for the first half-hour of consultation. After that, the fee will have to be determined between you and the attorney you select.
