Employment & Training Program
What is the Employment & Training Program about?
The Employment Program is designed to assist clients to obtain employment. Services include; creating and updating resumes, job searches, employment counseling and interview techniques. The Employment Program works with contractors to develop jobs and identify employments needs of the Bristol Bay Region. The Employment Program has also developed a talent bank that can be utilized to find employees different projects and jobs around the region, as well as identify people interested in being trained in a specific area. The Employment Program is also developing OJT positions throughout the region that will provide clients with work experience.

Summer Youth Program
The Youth Opportunity Movement is a national network that helps communities build education and job related resources for youth where unemployment is high and job success can be difficult. In Bristol Bay the villages of Chignik Lake, Koliganek, Manokotak, New Stuyahok and Togiak have been selected to participate in the program. The Movement’s mission is to promote self-esteem and self-determination through a culturally appropriate program of education, training, occupational experience and related services for Native youth. Partnering with government, businesses, schools and community organizations, the Youth Opportunity Movement will help Alaska Native Youth ages 14-21 gain work experience, education and training.
